Cookie Launcher is a desktop application that runs on your PC. This page explains, in plain language, what data the launcher handles and where it lives.
Authentication
Signing in to a Microsoft account happens in your system browser using Microsoft's own account chooser and the authorization-code flow with PKCE. Cookie Launcher never asks for and never stores your Microsoft password.
After you approve sign-in, the launcher receives authentication tokens from Microsoft and stores them locally on your PC so you don't have to sign in every session. You can sign out at any time, which removes the stored tokens from your machine.
Local offline profiles are stored only on your PC and are intended for legitimate local testing. Authenticated online play requires a Microsoft account that owns Minecraft: Java Edition.
Locally stored launcher data
Instance configuration, selected Minecraft and loader versions, memory and Java options, installed content, and launcher preferences are stored in the Cookie Launcher data folder on your PC. Each instance keeps its own folder.
This data is not uploaded to Cookie Launcher servers. Deleting an instance or the data folder removes it.
Diagnostic logs
The launcher writes launcher and game logs locally so you can troubleshoot crashes and installation problems from Mission Control. Logs stay on your PC unless you choose to share them, for example by pasting relevant lines into a support request.
Logs can contain file paths, system details, and account display names. Review what you send before sharing a log.
Third-party services
To do its job, the launcher connects to third-party services you choose to use: Microsoft for account sign-in, the official Minecraft file sources for game downloads, loader projects such as Fabric and Quilt for loader files, and Modrinth for mod and modpack discovery and downloads.
Those services are operated independently and have their own privacy practices. Cookie Launcher is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Microsoft, Mojang Studios, Minecraft, Fabric, Quilt, or Modrinth.
Data retention
Because launcher data lives on your PC, you control retention. Removing an instance, signing out, or deleting the Cookie Launcher data folder deletes the corresponding data from your machine.
This website does not require an account, and the first version does not include analytics or advertising trackers.
